Education statistics program

Statistics Canada's Centre for Education Statistics develops surveys, provides statistics and conducts research and analysis relevant to current issues in education, training and literacy. Its program is developed in consultation with the Canadian Education Statistics Council (a partnership of Statistics Canada and the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada) and other education stakeholders.

Research and analysis in education

Education Matters: Insights on Education, Learning and Training in Canada is a free online periodical which provides summary information on issues and gives access to education indicators and Canadian education analysis. It presents information, statistics and analysis in a non-technical, highly readable format for teachers, students, parents, education associations, researchers and policy makers.

Free Internet publications provide user guides to surveys and highlights of survey results

The series Culture, Tourism and the Centre for Education Statistics - Research papers analyses current issues in education, learning, training and literacy, including accessibility, national and international student performance assessments, school-work transitions, adult education, lifelong learning, use of technology, alternate forms of delivery and outcomes. In addition, Statistics Canada publishes other Analytical Studies related to education, training and learning.

The Pan-Canadian Education Research Agenda, developed by the Canadian Education Statistics Council, surveys current priority issues in education and formulates research questions to address them.
